John Bishop Cutting Horse is a private training facility in Paicines, California. John raises, trains, and sells quality cutting horses. He keeps a full schedule of showing and riding lessons at all levels. With plenty of fresh cattle, he can help you with the intricacies of working out of the herd, keeping your show horse tuned and in shape, starting colts or just basic horsemanship. He always has openings for new clients.

This facility offers stalls, paddocks, outside pens, and pasture. The working areas include an outdoor round pen, a covered arena with lights, and a free-flowing exerciser. John makes sure he has a safe and friendly atmosphere with a staff to meet your needs.

With a background in ranching and horses, John coaches High School Rodeo kids, manages an organic olive orchard, beef cattle, and a start to finish breeding program. While competing in High School Rodeo, John won the State Finals in 1983 & 1984. He also won the Junior Grand National at the Cow Palace two years in a row, 1983 & 1984, and then again in 1986. His weekend and aged event NCHA lifetime earnings are $33,963.53. In 1995 he placed 3rd in the PCCHA Gelding Stakes & reserve in the open limited with Greys Bell Star. Riding Sugs Starlite in 1997, John tied for 3rd in the PCCHA derby. In 2004 with Real Peppy Jewel at the APHA World Show, he was 4th in the Junior Horse and in 2005 split 3rd & 4th, again with Real Peppy Jewel.
