Welcome to Shady Oaks 2008.  We are very excited to be offering our largest event calendar to date.  In addition to our fall Shady Oaks CDE, for the first time we are offering two clinics, Spring and Summer HDT’s and a single day ADT. 

The 2008 driving clinics feature Larry Poulin in May and Jan Eric “Nicke” Palsson in June.  One of the great things about these clinics, is that they are each followed by an HDT so that the clinic participants get an immediate chance to put their new skills to good use.

In an effort to continue to help provide world class competition opportunities here on the west coast, we are hosting two driving trials. Our Driving Trials are part of the 2008 California ADT/HDT Challenge, sponsored by Carriage Driving Essentials.  In addition our Driving Trial scores can be used as qualifying scores for the fall Shady Oaks CDE.  Entries are now open for the Spring Trail.  You are able to download both our Spring and Summer Driving Trial Omnibus’ here at our website.

Who’s going to be Officiating at Shady Oaks?  We’re glad you asked.  We have committed ourselves to providing top officials from around the world to make sure you get a world class experience, whether participating in our Driving Trials or CDE.  We are delighted to welcome the wonderful group of officials coming this year, for some it will be their first trip here to California.  Our Spring Driving Trial features: Hardy Zantke (USA), Tracey Morgan, MaryBeth Goree, Penny Nicely and Fritz Grupe making his first appearance as Course Designer.  Our Summer Driving Trial features: Kail Palmer-Miller, Enno Georg (GER), Nicke Palsson, Ellen Ettenger, and Fritz Grupe.  The Shady Oaks CDE will welcome:  Dr. Franz Vetter (GER), Jozsef Borka (HUN), Hardy Zantke (USA), Marsoe Larose (CAN), François Bergeron (CAN), Simon Roseman (CAN), and Tom Knicker (USA).

What else is new here at Shady Oaks?  We’ve got a whole new layout which includes new barns, new wash racks, new entry and exit (for June and later), and this year, for the first time, we will be using the “Great Park” for competition. We can’t wait for you all to come see what we’ve been up to.

Volunteers we love you, we need you.  You will find a volunteer form here on our website.  No experience is necessary.  From shirts and pins, to dinner, even a free ADT, you can earn it just by volunteering here at Shady Oaks.
