Greetings from Team Grupe!!

 2007 and 2008 have been challenging and productive years for all of us here at Shady Oaks.

 Starting with Phyllis’ 2006 purchase of Cincinnati Shine, (a former pack pony), in Allentown New Jersey. “Kind Shine” as the grandchildren call him, has turned into a superstar winning 7 out of 8 Intermediate shows during the past 9 months (Phyllis made a wrong turn in one), and proving that even pony dreams can come true.

Fritz’s competition has focused on bringing some young horses along.  Dropping to Intermediate has given him and the horses a much needed break from the pressure of FEI competition.  That along with the development of Forest Glen (our Florida farm) have kept him extremely busy and generally out of trouble.

Here at Shady Oaks we are focusing on elevating the level of driving and competition on the Pacific Coast.  Starting with a Larry Poulin clinic in May and a Nicke Palsson clinic in June both followed by Driving Trials we will be hosting drivers who are challenging themselves to become more accomplished at Combined Driving.  We are very excited about providing this opportunity to work with some of the best drivers in the world today and hope many of our driving friends will take advantage of these opportunities.  For more information contact Bonner Murphy at (209) 462-2209.

Meanwhile, if you see Phyllis driving a lovely black pony, just look at her happy face and you’ll know you’ve met “Kind Shine”.
