At a young age, Sara learned that she had an innate calming and healing effect when she touched another living being. Since sciences were not her strong point, a career as a large animal veterinarian (as her grandfather in England had been), was out of reach. Later on, through Traditional Chinese Medicine and human and equine bodywork, she discovered she could help heal and benefit horses this way instead. So, as a first step, she became certified in California in Traditional Chinese Healing Arts, Acupressure and Shiatsu Massage for humans. (There were no Equine Body Work certification courses offered yet so getting certified for humans was the only option).
Sara expanded her studies in these ancient healing arts and learned acupressure and shiatsu massage on horses (and dogs). As the approach to this form of healing, based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, is a holistic one, she incorporated a variety of other aspects of horsemanship in order to be able to treat the horse as a whole. They included courses through Equinology®. in equine acupressure, saddle fitting, farrier science, equine nutrition, equine dentistry, as well as various other workshops on other forms of equine massage, equine stretching, Bach flower and herbal remedies. She brings to her practice her lifetime of knowing, understanding and loving horses.
Sara has private clients and teaches both in the United States and Europe. Her students have included trainers, owners, competitors, farriers, veterinarians and other equine lovers. Her clinics are always fun and relaxing, both for people and horses and all leave feeling the therapeutic effects.
